Grateful for 2018 and Excited for 2019

Dear Years,

You taught me how to live every moment in the present and how not to worry about the day of tomorrow.

You carried me through dark moments, but also showed me how to find the light in the end.

You helped me get up every time I fell and keep on moving forward regardless of the journey, be it an easy or a difficult one.

You made me gradually understand, through all sorts of experiences, what true love means and what it requires and that one should not desperately chase love in order to be loved; it comes naturally for everyone.

Having been exposed to diverse draining self battles, you finally convinced me of my worth and that I should always come first. Discreetly ignore the ones who do not want to be in my life and passionately welcome the ones who want to stay in my life.

You ensured me that after every storm sun will eventually come out, though sometimes it might be hiding behind the clouds, waiting for us to remove any negativity from our minds.

You created a better version of me by not only surrounding myself with people who would make me laugh like crazy, but also who would bring out the best of me every single day and thus making me feel alive.

You guided me towards inner happiness by familiarizing myself firstly with unhappiness, which was actually silly trivial things that barely mattered.

You raised me up when I believed the most and turned me into a twinkling star whose purpose is to consistently shine in order to survive.
