Protect your Energy

Being a naturally exuberant person, radiating (lots of) energy around me is my true calling. There is nothing more innerly fulfilling than having that click with someone, energy-wise, and feeding with each other's positive energy and vibes; and you don't even need to know the other person for long to feel their energy situation... one can simply feel it deep down, just from a seemingly simple interaction, a smile, the gaze in their eyes, body language...

In the past, I used to be the person who would always be "out there" and exposing the real me with everyone. This was partially good because people could grasp my "naked" personality from the start, crazy and full of passion and energy as it was; in retrospective, I should have protected my energy a bit more. Why am I saying this? Truthfully speaking, not everyone deserves my vibrant good energy ( as selfish as it may sound); the more energy I was spreading out there with everyone, the more slightly frustrated and empty I was feeling in the end, when my energy was not recognized and appreciated to its potential, and more often than not, misunderstood as well.

It is like saying " I like everyone and everyone should like me in turn"; but I guess life has taught us all by now that this is simply not possible and there is no reason for that, and we should not look for a reason anyway; it is what it is and we need to come to terms with it.

The point that I am trying to make is as follows:

Never fake who you are, always be real and yourself in any circumstance; but don't be too real with everyone, as some people might take advantage of that.

Think about sharing secrets and private stuff... would you really do it with everyone or only with the people that you can trust will keep your secret safe? It can get draining at some point in time if your secret is divulged among everyone, making it difficult to have the situation under control as a result.

How to decipher who is worthy of discovering the real version of you and who is not? Invest and then test. Once you invested some energy in someone or in more people, you see how they react to it and from this moment onwards, you are able to draw a conclusion for yourself: "Do I still want to keep investing my energy into these people or is it in vain? I better do it with people who are able to recognize it, appreciate it and share it back with me "

Do not give people too much access of you, unless they deserve it.

Be aware who you let in to discover the real you and be protective of your energy and most importantly, of your soul!

Choose the people who bring out the best version of you and who allow you to be real!
